Dr. Karla Badillo-Urqiola, Director of the EPOCH Research Lab, along with the lab's undergraduate and graduate students, participated in the recent Black Excellence Dinner hosted by the University of Notre Dame on January 17th, coinciding with the annual Walk the Walk Week. Among the attendees, Ph.D. student Ozioma "Ozzie" Oguine received a nomination for the Graduate Student Black Excellence Award. This nomination recognized Ozzie's dedication to rigorous scholarship and his advocacy for the inclusion of BIPOC individuals and those with disabilities.
Accompanying Ozzie were junior Danielle Redford, senior Dominick Blanco, and Ph.D. candidate Oghenemaro "Maro" Anuyah, who attended the dinner to demonstrate their support and solidarity. The presence of EPOCH Lab students at the Black Excellence Dinner not only affirmed our solidarity with the wider community but also underscored our steadfast commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) through our research and academic pursuits. |
